I had a Ford back-up sensor system in my 2004 F-250 and when I traded it in on a 2006 with a larger motor, the 2006 did not have the back-up system. I had grown to rely on it while backing up to and hooking up horse trailers plus helping me in crowded parking lots. I wanted one that was just as good as the Ford installed sensors and the ATEASED by Stellar Security looked the closest to factory installed.

I installed this system in my truck in about 4 hours. I have a crew cab long bed and all the wires were long enough but only if the control unit was installed under the bed. Instructions say dry environment so I intend to cover it to reduce the chance of road spray. The monitor unit looks good in a truck interior. Not sure you BMW types would be happy with it but fit my needs. The wire took some time to run under the trim panels but the final result was nice.

The sensors themselves can be painted according to the literature but mine were black and looked good in a chrome bumper as is. This is the one area where a hint is needed. The hole saw that comes with the unit is for vinyl. It absolutely will not go through a steel bumper. I had barely scratched the chrome and the teeth in the hole saw were flat. Get a Vermont American 7/8 inch hole saw and you won't have any trouble.

The tone and display are both easily discernible and the tone can be turned off with a tiny switch on the top and rear of the monitor unit. I was amazed at the accuracy. I put a box behind the truck and the unit read 0.5 meter. The box was in fact 53 centimeters from the bumper. That was pretty impressive.

The one caution if you are used to other systems already is that my ford factory installed system started alerting at a greater distance. In my case I was getting closer to objects than I would have liked based on my experience. If you haven't had one before you'll never notice the difference. The measurement accuracy was good as stated earlier so you can rely on that.

I would buy this again based on my experience so far. I don't have any reliability data though and I'm not sure if the external installation of the control unit, required in my application due to cable length, will be a problem.
