I probably should have gone with the less expensive plain billet version of this oil cleaner, but I like the black. Installed this along with a jag oil cooler and currently the oil temp has yet to get over 210 (not bad this time of the year in South Texas on a full Harley dresser). Also, I followed K&P engineer's recommendation and installed it a couple of hundred miles before my next oil change. When I did perform a full oil change, I trapped the contents of the oil filter when I was cleaning it out. Lots of pieces of paper, presumably from the paper filter elements being used previously. Found me a less expensive version of Simple Green at Home Depot for cleaning the filter. Looking forward to miles and possibly years of service from this filter.
