New Launch Creader VII Code Reader! Review

Unit has generic capability out of the box but needs carline info downloaded
you are allowed 1 choice then its locked in no changing it.
The users manual has no instructions on how to download software or the
dealer code which is needed to register.
Contacted "LAUNCH Tech USA" with the SN# for help, they do not support this unit,
it is supported by "Launch in China" who didnt reply to my email for help.
The seller was responsive to try to help and contact Launch but I still had a lot of problems,
It took me more than a week + hours of research and messing around with
the software download center and CreaderVII before I able to download the carline software
then problems to get it to work.
That's the only reason I decided to keep it instead of returning for refund.
It is missing some of the main features in the users manual "Time" and "Record" ,no driver for the USB to PC connection, the software download program does'nt work, I did it manually and used the updater that did work.
Hopefully they will address these problems in future software updates.

After using the unit itself it has it's limitations, but is very useful
and I learned a few lessons too...................

I use factory scan tools and Snap-On Diagnostics at work for full in depth use
and have used the earlier CreaderVI that another technician has at the shop,
bought the CreaderVII to use for quick/convienient scanning when that's all I need.
