Okay, if you can afford this one, especially if it's on sale, you'd be mad not to buy one. I have used Petzl ropes, Mammut ropes, Beal ropes and Bluewater ropes. This is by FAR the best rope I have ever owned. It is extremely durable; a typical rope lasts me a season of abuse - I got two out of the Evolution Velocity. It has the perfect feel to it, not too slippery (especially a problem with dry treated ropes) but not too rough either. Perfect stiffness, and a great selection of colors.
I also love the bi-colors, much better than a center mark or the other weird stuff manufacturers do. They are not paying me to say this! I have turned many of my friends over to this rope. For an all around workhorse you cannot go wrong with the 9.8 Evolution Velocity. It's quite thin despite being 9.8mm. Don't think about it, just buy it and you will not regret it.
