7/15/2012 I have to say the reviews I read on this made me think Ok this should do it but I had to hear it for my self. Last night mission accomplished, I had no idea. This thing is absolutely amazing and it thumps. Anyone who wrote a bad review is either deaf or works for a competitor. The power and bass u can hear and feel is sick. I have been wanting this and wish I had it sooner. My boat is a 1987 22 ft sea ray cuddy cabin, the main cockpit is very spacious I put the sub under the front passenger seat. I was worried the sound may be lost under the seat, but honestly the sound quality is still very good and fills the boat nicely. Another added bonus, is that there is a green LED light near the gain and crossover which surprisingly provided enough light to adjust the settings on the water in the dark
My system consists of a pioneer head unit 50watt x 4. I do not have an amp running the speakers which are the
SPS-M600 - Alpine 6.5" 110 Watts 2-Way Marine Speakers, (I reviewed those as well) I have four of these on the pioneer head unit. Once I added this tube the increase of overall sound quality and volume is tremendous. I agree with bazooka I was missing 30% of my music. I adjusted the bass mid and treble on the head unit then tweaked the bass tube to fill the low end sound out and presto! My system has never sounded better. This was exactly what my boat needed and I am not disappointed. Btw I listen to metal, death metal, techno, rap, dance etc. It all sounds good!!!!!
