Escort Inc. SmartCord Live Direct Wire for 9500ci/STi-R Plus - Android Version Review

I bought and had installed the Beltronics Sti-R Plus along with the Escort SmartCord for additional protection. Both units work perfectly. However, if you decide to update your Sti-R Plus by using the Beltronics download system, you had better go to their Beltronics Blog and follow the extra steps needed to update with the Smartcord attached. There is a bug in their update system and it is fully explained on their Blog but you must follow their instructions for a work-around. Otherwise, when you get on the road with this equipment, you will have an advantage over vehicles without this added protection. The only downside I can see is this. When you observe a radar trap, you can mark it and that is a benefit especially since it is stationary. However, there is also another button to allow you to mark when you see ANY POLICE. This is not optimal because most of the time such marks reflect a moving police vehicle which can become a false alarm if you are 15 minutes away when you receive the mark on your SmartCord. Such moving marks are pretty much worthless. It would be better to limit all marks to police vehicles that are stationary. That's my feedback! I am looking forward to your comments as well.
