We just took a 5-day weekend trip.

Packed over 40# of clothing, electronic toys, and toiletries in each bag.

Although full, they didn't prevent the top from going down (didn't require using the "extra space" which would have prevented the top from stroring).

Grab handles are well reinforced - i doubt that they could ever fail (the shoulder straps don't appear as well reinforced).

These bags will outlive the car (and will be used in my other vehices).
