First off the MTX TD500.1D is a 500W amplifier, not 1000W. It is rated at 300W RMS @ 4ohms and 500W RMS @ 2ohms. "Peak" power ratings are pointless.I'm using this amp to power a single 10" RF sub in an MTX C15EX Thunderform enclosure in my '11 Silverado X-cab. This is a cool running and very compact power amp that is ideal for my truck since space for mounting audio gear is at such a premium. The fact that it runs so cool means you don't have to worry about leaving lots of space around the amp to allow air to flow over it to keep it cool. This is (pun intended) VERY cool. I've only had the amp for about a month now and so far I couldn't be happier with it.
