The odd focus blur in the housing that resembles fog or melted plastic coupled with the fact that my high end halogen bulbs (70 $) gave off more light , made it easy to give these babies only 2 stars . This review covers both stock Dunlop VROD tires (the 120/70 ZR 19 front and the 240/40 ZR 18 rear).

These stock tires are just...OK. I own a 2008 Night Rod Special with almost 30k well earned miles. I will soon be changing out my front tire (3rd one) and rear (4th one) for the Metzeler ME 880 Marathon (front - same specs as stock Dunlop) and ME 880 Marathon XXL (260mm instead of 240mm stock - but otherwise the same specs - the 260 will fit on the rear rim and WILL NOT rub on any moving or non moving parts - the extra 10mm on either side won't negatively affect anything).

I've riden my bike, litterely, from coast (west), to coast (gulf), to coast (east) on these tires, so I feel comfortable in saying that though they got me where I wanted to go, I am not impressed with these shoes. I've always felt that the mileage I was able to get out of a tire or set was substantially lower that what I was expecting. Mind you, I don't race, drag, pop wheeliees, or smoke my rear tire. I do, however, ride my bike EVERYDAY possible, thus the near 30k in less than 3 year(November will be my actual 3rd year with this bike).

I don't have any hard factual data to explain why I don't like these particular tires, but I can say that they never made me feel confident that they were performing up to industry standards for mileage and performance.

Honestly, based on face to face biker experience, and the opinions mentioned on VROD 1250cc.CALM site, I feel good about my decision to switch from the stock shoes to the Meteler 120/70 ZR 19 front and the 260/40 ZR 18 rear.
