The IS Series intake system is a traditional, under hood intake system. By reducing turbulence in the pipe and providing a less restrictive flow through the high performance filter, each short ram intake system is engineered to provide improved horsepower and torque gains over the stock setup. Injen Technology IS2020P Polished Short Ram Intake System Review

This intake actually did make a noticeable difference.
The mpg as advertised by injen directly was not 100% accurate, as it's tricky to drive completely conservative with this thing in.
Air flow definately increased, but the hissing sound made by the intake sounds almost like there's a leak in the hose. This actually was used on a 2000 Camry LE 4 cylinder, as the advertised intake for my car was incorrect.
There was no connector for the air conditioner sensor, so a modification had to be put in place to regulate that, which I was not expecting on this install.

Passed emissions in Arizona with flying colors first attempt, it is carb exempt.
Was I satisfied? Yes.
Now that I've sold the car, will I buy it for my new one?
Really not sure yet, probably not.

Pac Nu-gm4 Navigation Unlock Interface (for The 2012 Chevrolet(r) Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban & Review

Interesting device that does what it claims it will: unlock the nav interface so the passenger can enter destinations while in motion as well as unlocking all scrolling functions. To use it you need to hold the steering wheel SRC button until a message is displayed in the DIC (driver information center), then hit it again to confirm safe usage. To disable, hit and hold the SRC button again until a DIC message indicates nav unlock terminated.

I have heard that it also allows the playing of a DVD on the nav display while in motion but I have never thought that was too sharp an idea. Regardless, I haven't tested it.

Installation was reasonably simple. Getting the dash bezel off the radio was a little scary because it seems easy to break. Pulling the radio out was easy now that GM has seen fit to include a few inches of extra wire on the radio harness as the expense of adding a few cents to the cost of goods. Unplugging older GM radio harnesses always required hands the size of ET's since they chintzed on the length of the harness.

In this application (2012 Suburban) the device harness is of high quality with good connectors to interface with the vehicle harness and backside of the radio. Two other wiring modifications are necessary:
1. a wire on the vehicle harness needs to be cut and the two ends connected to the device harness - not difficult but you need to pay attention to what you are doing since they have supplied bullet connectors that makes reverting to OEM easy. Not paying attention will result in failure to operate as designed and/or a little grief if you want to revert later to OEM specs (device removal).
2. a wire needs to be run from behind the radio to a harness on the left side under the driver side dash. Here is the ONLY fault in the product's quality I could find. The wire from the device should be about 3 feet longer so as not to require extension.

The biggest hassle I had was stuffing all the wires/connectors/harnesses back into the dash to the radio would reseat properly. With about 15 minutes of anguish and manipulation, it went back in properly. I ended up wrapping the device's box in a little bit of foam rubber and installing it between the center stack and the glove box with a 18" wire tie (my hands are too big for such small places to I used a longer tie that might be necessary ordinarily).

My only complaint is that while the device is engaged for unlocked navigation input, navigation is SUSPENDED. This is not that big a deal but I did ask the manufacturer about it and got a "deer stunned in the headlights" response that I couldn't get around. The documentation/install sheet does not mention this either. This becomes an issue if you have a route programmed and unlock the nav input function and forget to turn it off. You will eventually notice that the vehicle symbol is a mile or two off the road going in random directions and turn the device off. It will take 10-20 seconds for navigation to collect its thoughts, regain its cool, and resume.

I had been considering another similar device called the GM LOCKPICK but it was over twice the price with no discernible justification. Reviews indicated that engaging the LOCKPICK also stunned the navigation function.

One final thought: while speaking with the manufacturer I asked if there was a new model coming out soon that may have more feature/function. I was told no and that this device is being phased out (don't know about the plans of competing companies). Without actually admitting anything, I inferred that it might be potential legal liability that forcing this action. They cannot actually prohibit the driver from engaging the nav input and then fooling around with the nav system until they tail end someone or plant the front end of their vehicle into a large tree/house/bridge abutment. You can put all the warning labels on an icepick not to stick in ears/eyes/nose/skull but that won't stop the litigious bonehead from doing it. Plus there are a huge number of idle and bottom feeding lawyers eager to take a case like this. Suffice it to say that if you are interested in this sort of device, I wouldn't wait too much longer before ordering it. BTW, Amazon pricing was extremely competitive and beat everyone else hands down.

I would have rated this device 5 stars (I love it) if it didn't cause the nav system to go brain dead during its use.

    Kevin Tetz Paintucation Autobody & Painting 5 DVD Set Review

    These Paintucation DVDs are essential for the Do it yourself automotive enthusiast or the skilled professional. They serve as great introduction level education and also as a great refresher for those that don't work in the profession on a day to day basis that might need a simple reminder here and there. I have a 1994 Ford Bronco, for those of you unfamiliar with Broncos, simply put, they love to rust! With the help of these videos, and pretty much these videos alone I was able to replace body panels, such as fenders, I sanded down to bare metal, primed, blocked, repainted, clearcoated, color sanded, and buffed to obtain the perfect finish. Something that I had never done before and now I get complimented on my once rust old truck time after time. I would recommend them to anyone in the auto body industry looking to build a foundation from the start. I believe these videos would serve an amazing purpose for those shy about entering automotive bodywork certification education as an excellent learning curve so that you have the confidence to broden your horizens like myself. I was a little shy about taking courses at my local community college because like I stated I never had any previous experience in this field but was highly motivated to learn. I felt like these DVD's gave me the motivation to actually go so I didn't feel so out of place and lacked knowledge in potentially a room full of know hows.

    The way these videos are organized is SUPERB. It starts you off right where you would be in a real world scenario and finishes in the color sanding and buffing portion to obtain the final result. I never heard of Kevin Tetz until I started browsing the web and stumbled upon a site called autobody101.com where these videos were highly recommended. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain by making the purchase, which is actually where I purchased these videos as they were slightly cheaper on that website *at that time* The videos are not only educational but they also keep you interested with Kevins personality. It's not dry education, but he has a sense of humor that you would expect from that type of line of work. He doeesn't look like, but sort of reminds me of the Chip Foose type of character, the type of guy where if nobody knew,turns to him because he would.

    Bonus: He also advises you on some very helpful money saving tips that more than pay for the DVDs themself. If you know auto body and paint, and are a do it yourselfer, or,if you don't already know, you will find that it can be extremely costly for the materials, tools, and supplies. Do you really need that $43.00 3M sanding block? Or could you get by with a piece of hard rubber, wood, or even a paper towel roll? He tells you what you truly need, where you shouldn't take shortcuts, and where you can afford to, for lack of better words. From the minute I popped these in to my DVD player I found myself glued. I even paused in MANY parts and took notes.

    Bottom Line: By now I probably sound like I am gaining something by advertising these videos so highly. Rest assured, I am just a normal guy just like you. If you don't believe me you will find in my profile/reviews that I review anything and everything from shop vacs to call of duty modern warfare 3. I have nothing to gain by praising this set of DVD's but you have a lot to lose by choosing NOT to buy these! Take it from me, they are well worth the money, you won't be disappointed!
