I installed this compressor on an '08 Passat. I was just about to remove my gauges and close the hood when the compressor locked up and caused the engine to die. I had to re-install the old compressor to get the car back on the road. I just sent the seller an email and depending on the outcome of the warranty, I may update my review at a later date. However, I really don't want to install another one of these compressor if they aren't manufactured any better than this.
Ok, here's an update. As I said, the part was defective, however, I contacted the seller, Parts Factor, and was very pleased with the customer service that I received. I returned the part and was issued a full refund for the purchase price and original shipping charges.
