I have these tires on my 2000 Toyota Tundra SR5 V8. I got them in October of last year. No sooner than I put them on, we got hit with snow. 12" in 3 hours. I had to drive in the weather and was nervous about how the tires would perform. I was amazed at how well they did! I tore right thru the snow and ice with great ease! The traction amazed me. Then, I took them out on a mud trail that lead thru some wet, grassy areas. Once again, these tires performed magnificently!! I was becoming a true fan of these tires. I go off road quite a bit, but i also spend A LOT of time on the highway. The tires are not exactly quiet, but they handled wet and dry roads very well(and the lower the tread gets, the louder the road noise gets!). I live in the mountains of NC and there are a lot of curvy roads. Overall, I was seriously impressed with these tires.....until..... I noticed the tread was going very quickly. I have about 17,000 miles on these tires and they are bald. That is disappointing. I have been trying to get them to last a full year, but it's just not going to be possible. I'm replacing them next week. The trick is this. LT tire sizes and P-metric tire sizes of the same tire are 2 totally different things. The LT tires cost way more then the P-metrics. LT's are made of a softer compound for off road grip, stronger sidewall plys to handle heavier loads (3,400lbs) and have a lower speed rating(90mph) and typically do not have any warranty. P-metric tires often cost less and are made with a more firm compound which allows for higher speed ratings(110-140mph), warranty's (45,000 to 65,000miles) and still have off road grip. They will also have a thinner sidewall and lower load limit (2200lbs). So, if you are like me and spend 40% off road and 60% highway, carry loads that are not insanely heavy, then go with a P-metric all-terrain tire. I'm going with the Cooper Discoverer A/T3. They have a 55,000 mile warranty, high speed rating and a fair load rating and....well....awesome reviews!! I've heard people say they have gotten 80-90,000 miles out of those tires. So, now you know.
DON'T waste your money, shop wisely!! Good luck!
