Michelin Primacy MXV4 Radial Tire - 215/55R17 94H Review

The Michelin Primacy MXV4 are a replacement for my 2010 Camry LE that had original Bridgestone EL400. The Bridgestones wore out at 20K miles. I was worried that the Camry design was, although very comfortable, hydroplaned at the first sign of rain on the road. With the Michelin Primacy MXV4 installed I went out on a rainy morning looking for standing water. What I observed was that I could not find any sign of hydroplaning. I don't think this tire can compare in heavy rains with tires like the old Michelin Hydroedge or Goodyear tripletread, but it is above average.
Ride comfort is very good. Today's cars run tires at a higher preasure than in the past to improve fleet gas mileage, so correct tire pressure is important to comfort on those city tar strips.
Cornering and dry pavement traction is what you would expect for an OEM replacement tire. Secure and predictable in the turns and emergency maneuvers.
Balance on the tires are what you would expect from a quality tire. Smooth with no wobble, pulling or vibrations.
I have no idea how these tires wil work in the snow. I am hoping for the best as the tread design is not what one would expect to help in winter but I am hoping the large amount of well designed sipes will surprise me.

Spyder Auto Honda Civic Black Halogen Projector Headlight Review

I cannot say enough about how great these look. My old units were cloudy and my lights were more for showing other drivers where I was rather than helping me to see the road. So when one of the old units was broken, it was the perfect time to replace them with something better.

The installation was reasonably easy for someone who had never done this type of work before. You do have to remove much of the front bumper cover and open up both of the plastic areas inside the fenders. The front grill area must also be opened up or removed to access the two screws in there. Those plastic areas inside the fenders cover one screw on each side as well. I destroyed a bunch of the plastic clips to access these areas, but they are available for replacement.

Be aware that to access the turn signal lightbulb, you will be removing those plastic areas inside the fenders. This was true of the original units as well and isn't a design flaw with the product. Just something to be aware of before you start. I made the choice to replace both of those turn signal bulbs while I had the fender opened up. This assembly comes with a nice hole into which you can insert your existing bulb and base though I was unable to use the rubber washer they provided.

There is also a metal frame piece that butts up directly behind the low beam bulb. I installed both units and then tried to remove the low beam bulb on driver's side to see what a replacement bulb would be. I immediately discovered that I was unable to remove the rubber boot from the back of the bulb area. With a bit of work, I could push it mostly to one side, but still wasn't able to get the bulb out. The power steering unit sits directly behind that area as well, which makes it difficult to get your hand in there.

The pros still far outweight these couple of minor issues for me. The new assemblies look great and I can see the road again. I would happily purchase these again and would recommend them to anyone looking to replace the old units.

I have a 2008 WRX. PROS: Shipping was fast. Product was easy to change and set up. Came with easy to read instructions. Took maybe two minutes to change the part. CONS: the vacuum hose extender piece is a little small for my cars stock vacuum hose, I had to really jam in inside the hose to get it to work right. Also I'd recommend having boost gauges or a access port live data log available first so you can monitor boost and help set up how many washers your cars BOV will take. Mine was 3-4 washers.Other than that awesome product. Awesome service.
