UNIDEN BC-246T Compact Hand Held Scanner Review

The bc246t is one of the most intelligently designed radios I have ever owned. It is compact, light, and equipped with a friendly keyboard. It is a technological leap forward in its features, including a large number of programming menus with keyboard hotkey alternatives. I cannot vouch for the many conventional scanning features, because I trunk scan exclusively, but they look good on paper. As for trunk scanning, this scanner does what I have missed in many other choices-it allows me to switch between talk groups by direct access rather than by frantic scanning until I hit the target talk group. The design of the bc246t is user-flexible: the non-techie can take advantage of the PC Control and cloning features to have the frequencies, talk groups, and alpha-tags (i.e. display name tags identifying the broadcast source) programmed into the radio for him or her; the old-school techies like me can grab a bottle of aspirin and do it all by hand. The small size of the bc246t requires a smaller speaker and a slight loss of sound quality which is acceptable in return for all the other advantages this unit offers. You can be lazy and like this radio, but if you put the work into learning how to run it, you'll admire the thought that went into its design. Uniden includes a belt clip, wrist strap, PC cable, an AC adapter/charger and 2 AA batteries, and of course, a manual and frequency list. Demo software is available at Uniden's website. Be sure to download the firmware update if nothing else.

BMW Roof Rack Base Support System 128 135 Coupe (2008+) Review

I bought it and i just love the way it looks and perform, light weight, easy to install are just some of the great things about this roof rack, the price was very good comparing with other brands and i still have to put a whole bunch of metal and bars that would looks just very out of place for a BMW. Overall the best roof rack i ever bought and considering i like to travel and carry things around this has been by far the most convenient. Enjoy it :)

Go Power! GP-SW150-12 150-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter Review

Pros: This is a very good looking inverter! I really like the sleek design and clean look. Has a pretty decent manual too. I like that the 12-volt accessory port plug (like you'd plug into the cigarette lighter outlet in your car) and wires are attached. The sine wave is PURE as measured by my instruments. (I also read a frequency of 59.9hz which my same instruments also read my commercial power at.)

Cons: This thing can't handle a load! Using a 12 volt, 35 amp hour battery pack, I hooked a 75 watt load up to it. I had a Kill-A-Watt plugged into the back of the inverter and had the load plugged into the Kill-A-Watt. The voltage level with no load attached and with using a fully charged battery pack (battery pack voltage level 13.21v DC), the Kill-A-Watt showed the inverter's output voltage to be fluctuating between 113.3v and 113.8v AC. When a 15 watt load was attached, the output voltage dropped to 112.5v AC. Bumping the load up a little caused more drop:

Is my Go Power! defective?

Additional con is the location of the on/off/remote switch. There are two AC outlets on the back of the unit. They are on the Go Power sideways! The power switch is located to the immediate right of the outlet on the right. If your plug is a bigger than the outlet, you cannot turn the switch on or off. You will have to use an extension cord. (An extension cord was NOT used in my test as I was able to plug the Kill-A-Watt into the outlet on the left side -- which covered most of the right-side outlet too.)

I replaced the Go Power inverter with a Xantrex XPower pocket inverter (175 watt with a modified sine wave). Using the same battery pack, I was able to run the same load for over 5 hours! The voltage stayed between 114.0v and 116.6v the entire time the load was applied. The Xantrex was only a fraction of the cost of this Go Power inverter.

I intend to return this Go Power inverter and will try a different brand for my pure sine wave inverter needs.

I had been looking around for a set of LED tail lights for my 2001 BMW 330Ci for several months. There are a lot of options out there for 4 door applications, but not as many for 2 door. I did order some LED tail lights before, but they didn't fit and I had to send them back. These are an excellent fit...and they look great as well. The LED lights are definately brighter and I noticed that immediately. It gives my vehicle a more 'up to date' look without spending a lot of money. I am definately very satisfied with this product and I think that it is a great value for the price.
